Missions
Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:37-38 (NIV)

Mission Opportunities
There are always opportunities to get involved in some aspect of missions work at First Baptist Church of Horizon City. We have an ongoig relationship with an orphanage in Porvenir, Mexico. We also support three major designated missions offerings each year--Annie Armstrong, Mary Hill Davis, and the Lottie Moon offerings.
Guatemala Mission in 2011?
We are also in the very early stages of planning another mission trip to Guatemala for 2011. Although that might seem like a long time away, due to the rainy season in Guatemala, any trip would be in the January - March timeframe which means it is really only a little over a year away. MIssion trips like this don't just happen--they take prayer, money, and people. Please start praying now and ask God what your part of this mission trip should be. Can you go and be a part of the actual mission team? Can you provide financial support to help others go and to purchase the supplies/medicines we need to take with us? Of course, everyone pray for the planning process, the recruitment of team members and for all other aspects of this trip.
Our hope is to take a medical team in support of Servant Ministries similar to our trip in March 2009. To find out more about that mission trip and view a short video and photo galleries, click HERE.
