RecentEvents
FBC of Horizon City held it's annual VBS on June 13th - 17th. The theme for this year's VBS was "The Armor of God". Throughout the week the boys and girls participated in Bible study and drills, and crafts. They also learned about missions, with an emphasis on Guatemala. The boys and girls donated over $270 to go towards school supplies for children in the mountain villages of Guatemala.
Outreach Ministry
Here, at First Baptist Church of Horizon City we are committed to reaching everyone we can for Christ. As a growing church, one of our main focuses is our "Jerusalem"--the men, women and families of Horizon City and the surrounding communities.
In addition, we are always looking for opportunities to reach beyond our own community and communicate the message of the gospel through other activities. One way we are reaching people is through day mission trips to a Children's Home in Porvenir, Mexico.
Harvest Festival
On October 31st we will be holding our annual Harvest Festival. It all starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. Bring the kids to a safe alternative to going door to door for candy. There will be games where prizes are not just candy, but neat things. Jumping balloons for the little ones, tour a real Fire Engine and talk to a fireman.
A special treat is the talented chalk artist, Larry Sinclair and his Ventriloquist wife, Frieda with her little wooden boy that seems to know so much. They have come all the way from Fairfield Texas just to entertain us. Larry will be giving away his drawing to some lucky child when he finishes each session.
Hot chocolate, punch, snow cones and more will be served.

Missions Oriented
We believe in serving others and in the Great Commission. This includes local service projects and short-term missions trips. Our latest international mission trip was to Guatemala in March 2011. To learn more about this trip click on the "Continue" button now.
